The Redhawks travel to the “Sunshine State” for the only the second time in their history as they take on Atlantic Coast Conference power Florida State in the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee, Florida at 10:00 a.m. CST. This will be the Redhawks first road contest of the season after playing their first three games at home.

The last time the Redhawks ventured to the state of Florida was during the 1982-83 season when they participated in the Miami Dial Tournament.

REDHAWKS REWIND

The Redhawks improved to 3-0 on the season as they won both non-conference home games last week. They started the week with a 60-41 win over Central Arkansas and ended the week with yet another home win over an Arkansas-based school as they defeated Arkansas-Little Rock, 57-45 to extend their home winning streak to five-straight wins at the Show Me Center.

For the week Sonya Daugherty led the Redhawks in scoring with an average of 14.5 ppg including a season and game-high 19 points against UALR.

Crysta Glenn averaged a doule-double with 14.0 ppg and 10.0 rebounds per game. She scored a game-high 17 points vs. UCA and finished with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE SEMINOLES

The Seminoles head into today’s match-up with a record of 3-1 having dropped their first contest of the season against in-state rival Florida, 72-57 at home on Sunday. The Gators led by as much as 16 points as they stunned the then-ranked No. 21 Seminoles and avoided being win No. 500.

The Seminoles are coming off a 19-14 season that saw them advance to their fourth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance where they upset 25th-ranked Ohio State in the first round before falling to 13th-ranked Oklahoma State in the second round. The Seminoles return their top three scorers including Honorable Mention All-ACC selection Tanae Davis-Cain who led the team in scoring at 15.0 ppg and also recorded 4.6 rebounds per game. Mara Freshour chipped in 12.7 ppg as the team’s top three-point threat and Jacinta Monroe averaged 10.2 ppg and a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game and shot .592 percent from the field. Monroe ranked 24th nationally in blocks with 2.4 per game.

This season Monroe has been been a presence inside teaming with freshman center Cierra Bravard. Monroe leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double with 17.3 ppg and 11.0 rpg. She also leads the team in blocks with eight.

Bravard is second on the team with a 14.0 ppg average while shooting 67-percent from the floor and chipping in 5.3 rpg.

Davis-Cain rounds out the double-digit scorers for the ‘Noles averaging 12.0 ppg.

Head coach Sue Semrau begins her 12th season at the helm of the ‘Noles. She has compiled an overall record of 182-153 all as head coach of the ‘Noles.

THE SERIES

The Redhawks have faced the Seminoles once in the program history. On November 17, 2006 the Redhawks lost a 64-50 home game against the Seminoles. Davis-Cain recorded a game-high 21 points on 8-11 shooting. Tarina Nixon scored 10 points and had six assists for the Redhawks who trailed 28-27 at halftime.
