Redhawks Women's Basketball Signs Sixth Recruit

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Tuesday, May 06, 2008) Redhawks women's basketball Head Coach John Ishee has announced the signing of Daumonique Lenhardt to a National Letter of Intent (NLI). She is the program's sixth signee for the 2008-2009 season.
Lenhardt is a native of Arlington, Tennessee that will transfer from Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, Tenn. The 5-9 guard will have two years of eligibility remaining when she arrives on campus.
Under Head Coach Andrea Martre she started for the Saluqis the last two seasons and was a major reason the Saluqis finished with a record of 31-1 and was the NJCAA Region VII Women's Tournament runner-up this past season. The team finished with a ranking of No. 4 in the country. This past season she averaged 9.7 points per game to rank third on the team while shooting 46-percent from the field and over 50-percent from beyond the three-point arc. Defensively she finished second on the team with 57 steals.
A First Team All Western Division selection she scored a season-high 16 points against Chattanooga State. She helped lead the team to perfect conference record and an undefeated regular season.
Her freshman season she averaged 5.0 ppg and 2.1 rpg in 25 games as the team finished 26-2, a TJCCAA Western Division title and a final NJCAA ranking of No. 13 in the nation. She had a career-high 17 points to go with six rebounds against Dyersburg State. She also recorded a career-best five steals versus Volunteer State.
Lenhardt played her prep ball at Bolton High School in Arlington, Tenn. Under the tuteledge of Lora Filsinger she was named team most valuable player and the team's offensive player of the year as she averaged 14.0 ppg her senior season. She was also named to the All-District 14AAA Team and The Commercial Appeal's Best of the Preps All-Metro Team.
Lenhardt joins Lesley Adams as members of the Redhawks spring signing class. They join early signees Trevonna Cannon, Victoria Smith, Amber Holmes and Bianca Beck to give the Redhawks six new faces for the 2008-09 season.
