CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO.- The 2010 Southeast Missouri volleyball team ended it preseason camp with an evenly matched scrimmage today at a hot Houck Fieldhouse.

The teams were split up evenly, and the ending result showed. The match went to a third set, which went several points over the pre-determined 25 points.

Head Coach Renata Heard felt that the energetic scrimmage sends the team into game week with great momentum. "Today's scrimmage was exactly what I wanted as we end our preseason camp," said coach Ren. "Our freshman got a taste of what the game pace is like, and it sends us into the Bradley tournament on a positive note. I am pleased with what I saw today from everyone."

Although the muggy fieldhouse early in the morning played a part in the Redhawks warmups, they quickly switched into game mode once the first serve went over the net.

The Redhawks open up on the road with three straight tournaments, the first one in Peoria, Ill. from August 27-28.
