Redhawks Win
Southeast ended a two-game losing streak when it beat Hannibal-LaGrange, 82-72, on Nov. 23. The Redhawks improved to 2-0 at home this season.

Miami (Ohio) visits Cape Girardeau for the first time in 2011-12. The RedHawks return the trip from an ESPN BracketBuster matchup that was played in 2009-10. Southeast lost, 69-53, in Oxford, Ohio on Feb. 20 that year. Miami (Ohio) marks the first NCAA Division I opponent to play at the Show Me Center this year.

Against the Mid-American Conference
Southeast is 2-6 all-time against Mid-American Conference schools. The Redhawks are 0-1 vs. Miami (Ohio), 1-0 vs. Central Michigan, 0-2 vs. Eastern Michigan, 0-1 vs. Toledo, 1-1 vs. Northern Illinois and 0-1 vs. Western Michigan. Southeast is 1-2 against MAC opponents under head coach Dickey Nutt. Nutt's win came when the Redhawks took down Northern Illinois, 70-64 (overtime), on the road, Nov. 22, 2009.

Redhawks vs. RedHawks
Both Southeast and Miami (Ohio) bear the same nickname. Southeast, which used to be the Indians, now goes by “Redhawks.” Miami (Ohio), formerly the Redskins, spells its nickname, “RedHawks.”

Niemczyk Gives Southeast a Big Lift
Nick Niemczyk scored a career-high 22 points off the bench to lead four players in double figures against Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 23). Niemczyk shot 8-of-14 from the field, knocked down two threes, posted a career-high four steals and made 4-of-4 free throws in 27 minutes. It was the first 20-point game of his Southeast career. Niemczyk's 22 points against the Trojans were more than he scored in his first four games of the season (12).

Powell Clears 500 Career Points
Leon Powell surpassed 500 points in his Redhawk career when he pitched in 13 against Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 23). Powell, who also added a game-high eight rebounds, scored double-digits for the third time this year. He is currently Southeast's second-leading scorer with 12.5 points per game, and now has a total of 501 in his career.
