ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Redhawks cross country teams had a strong showing Friday at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival, hosted by Saint Louis University. The men's squad picked up a second place finish while the women's team placed fourth.
 
Shane Brown was once again the top-finisher for the men. Brown finished 10th with a time of 19:13. Rebekah Lawson paced the women with a ninth-place finish in 18:18. Gloria Westlake finished right behind Lawson in tenth in 18:20.
 
For the men, Tyler Beaman finished behind Brown in 14th-place with a time of 19:35 while Nathan Cook (19:38) finished right behind in 15th. Tyson Stoverink (19:51) and Ryan Anderson (19:54) finished back-to-back in 18th and 19th to wrap the top-20 for the Redhawks. Marc Maton (37th, 20:02) and Colten Strotheide (24th, 20:04) both cracked the top-25. Tyler Holmes (50th, 20:28), Dan Plunkett (51st, 20:35), Cole Ross (56th, 21:05), and Sean Brown (60th, 21:30) wrapped up the race for Southeast Missouri.
 
For the women, Megan Park placed 19th in 18:41 while Angie Sumner (19:02) and Mary Dohogne (19:02) finished in 30th and 32nd, respectively. Sydney O'Brien placed 36th with a time of 19:04 while Kristen Richardet placed 41st in 19:25. Lindsey Seabaugh (19:35), Laura Chavez (19:36) and Andrea George (19:37) finished close together in 44th, 46th, and 48th places. Eilish Overby (64th, 20:16), Zhao Ni Dirnberger (73rd, 21:34), and Madeline Gaul (76th, 23:06) finished the race for Southeast.
 
The Redhawks return to action in Carbondale, Illinois Saturday, September 20, at the Saluki Invitational.
