Hall Sets School Hammer Throw Record in Memphis: Sarah Hall broke the program record with a hammer throw toss of 193' (58.82m) last Saturday at the Memphis Invitational. She broke the previous mark of 191'3" established by teammate Kayla Gutierrez last year.
 
Southeast Excels at Memphis Invitational: Several Redhawks had impressive showings at last weekend's Memphis Invite. Ayonna Cartwright won the 100-meter dash in 11.94 seconds and set a career-high in the 200-meters, crossing the finish line in 24.38 seconds. Jovannie Spears set a career-best in the 400-meters with a time of 56.37 seconds to finish third. High jumpers Chante Mosby and Abi Sowash both established personal records by clearing 5'7" and 5'6", respectively, to claim the top two spots. Blake Smith won the 100-meter dash as he recorded his second-fastest time of the season by finishing in 10.36 seconds. Jarred Pasley won the 200-meters in 21.85 seconds and 400-meters in 48.14 seconds. Marc Maton won the 1,500-meters with a time of 3:51.32. Shon Kyle claimed the discus with a toss of 168'5¼'. Alyssa Rebecca won the women's 1,500-meters in 4:44.13. Mary Dohogne won the 3,000-meters in 10:08.62. Southeast claimed the top three spots in the 3,000-meter run as the trio of Nathan Cook, Shane Brown and Craig Munie had strong showings. Cook won the race in 8:48.67. The Redhawks also had the top three performances in the men's long jump from Blake Carter, Smith and Jacob Kent. Carter won with a leap of 24'6½" while Smith finished just ¼" behind.
 
Smith Takes 2nd in 100 at Prestigious Drake Relays: Blake Smith placed second in the 100-meter dash as last week's famous Drake Relays in Iowa. He crossed the finish line in 10.40 seconds, which is his second-best time of the season.
 
Redhawks Thrive at A-State Red Wolves Open: Southeast athletes had a strong showing at the Arkansas State Red Wolves Open on April 24-25. Ayonna Cartwright and Cheyenne Tunti led the way with second-place finishes in the 100- and 400-meter dash races. Cartwright posted the second-fastest score of her career in 11.83 seconds while Tunti finished in 55.70 seconds.
 
Carter, Martin Win Jumps at Indiana State Gibson Invite: At the Indiana State Gibson Invite on April 17-18, Blake Carter won the long jump title with a leap of 23'10¾" (7.28m) while Chris Martin won the triple jump by covering 48'10" (14.88m). Kayla Gutierrez added a second-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 182'9" (55.71m).
 
Trio of Redhawks Earn OVC Weekly Honors: On April 15, three Southeast competitors earned adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Athlete of the Week honors. Mary Dohogne was named Female Track Athlete of the Week after she ran the second-fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase in program history in 10:56.38, which also is the top score in the OVC this year. She finished eighth out of 29 competitors at the Tennessee Relays Powered by Sea Ray. Blake Smith was Co-Male Track Athlete of the Week after he placed third out of 46 competitors in the 100-meter dash at the Tennessee Relays, finishing in 10.31 seconds. His sprint is the fastest in the league this season and ranks 14th nationally. Jason Walker was Co-Male Field Athlete of the Week after he finished second out of 22 discus throwers at the Tennessee Relays with a toss of 168'3". It ranks as the second-longest throw in the OVC this spring.
 
Redhawks Win 22 Events at Joey Haines Invitational: Southeast athletes dominated the annual Joey Haines Invitational at the Abe Stuber Track & Field Complex. Ayonna Cartwright, Taylor Coffelt, Kayla Gutierrez, Jarred Pasley, Blake Smith and Cheyenne Tunti were all winners in multiple events. Kevin Farley also won two events while competing unattached.
 
Smith Garners OVC Field Athlete of the Week: Senior Blake Smith earned OVC Field Athlete of the Week after successfully defending his long jump and 100-meter dash titles at the Joey Haines Invitational on April 4. His leap of 24'1½" (7.35m) is the longest in the OVC this season. He claimed victory in the 100 by finishing in 10.58 seconds, which is the third-fastest time in the league during the outdoor season.
 
Navarro Earns OVC Field Athlete of the Week: Senior Chris Navarro was named Ohio Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week after winning the javelin at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invite. His winning throw of 201'11½" is the longest in the OVC this season.
 
Kyle Named Initial OVC Co-Field Athlete of the Week: Senior Shon Kyle was named the OVC Co-Field Athlete of the Week following the first meet of the season. He finished fourth in the shot put and ninth in the discus at the John Mitchell Alabama Relays on March 21-22. His shot put throw of 55'1" and discus toss of 169'4" set the longest marks in the OVC this year.
 
Coffelt Wins Javelin at Alabama Relays: Junior Taylor Coffelt won the javelin title duriung the opening day of the Alabama Relays on March 20 with a throw of 137'2". She earned the victory over 23 other competitors during her first outdoor meet since joining the program as a transfer from Riverside CC in her hometown of Riverside, California.
