Complete Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Baseball Teams

AUSTIN, Texas – Senior baseball student-athlete Jason Blum has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Second Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday.
This is Blum's second appearance on the Capital One Academic All-America® team after earning third team honors a year ago. He is one of six repeat selections to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division I baseball teams in 2015. He is one of three to make the jump to second team from third team a season ago.
"This is a fantastic honor and a great way to cap off a superb career for Jason," said head coach Steve Bieser. "Since the day Jason stepped foot into our program, he has been the model of consistency and excellence we strive for daily."
Blum, a senior second baseman from Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, was one of six in the league awarded the Ohio Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Award in November 2014. A three-time OVC Medal of Honor recipient, he received his undergraduate degree in Finance in the spring of 2014 and will graduate with his master's degree in Business Administration in December 2015. His other awards and accolades include the Jewel Award, presented to the senior student-athlete with the highest GPA, and the Director of Athletics Leadership Award.
Blum is only the second Southeast Missouri baseball player to be a repeat selection to a Capital One Academic All-America® team. Jim Klocke earned Capital One Academic All-America® status in 2009 and 2010.
On the field, Blum has rewritten the Southeast Missouri record books. In his four-year career, he ranks first in hit by pitch (68), second in walks (123), third in stolen bases (48), fourth in at-bats (800) and runs scored (193), seventh in games started (210), and eighth in hits (223).
Among active career leaders in Division I, Blum ranks first in runs scored and second in being hit by pitch.
Blum helped lead the Redhawks to back-to-back OVC regular season championships in 2014 and 2015.
