Southeast Missouri women's tennis concludes their fall tournament season with the SIUE Indoor Invitational this weekend in Edwardsville, Illinois.
The Redhawks will compete against Milwaukee, IUPUI, Wright State, Central Arkansas and Western Michigan at the invite. The tournament will mark the second time this fall that SEMO faces Central Arkansas after opening the campaign at the Central Arkansas Invitational.
Last weekend, Kseniya Zonova
led the Redhawks with a semifinals finish in the consolation bracket at the 2017 ITA Central Regional Championship in Lawrence, Kansas. Oleksandra Doroshenko
added a quarterfinals finish in consolation singles.
Doroshenko will represent Southeast in the Flight A singles draw and opens the invite against Valeriia Lavrenchuk of IUPUI. Isabella Krupa
takes on Wright State's Jillian Milano in Flight B singles.
Zonova and Anais Emelie
will compete in the Flight C singles bracket. Zonova faces Anna Daniel Fuentes (Milwaukee) and Emelie takes on Amiru Shimoguchi of Central Arkansas for the second time this fall. Emelie fell to Shimoguchi in the fall tournament opener at the Central Arkansas Invitational.
Alessandra Maya Thompson
will face Lucy Harper of Milwaukee in Flight D singles and Maja Lundell
will compete in the Flight E singles draw.
Lundell meets Anna Jones (Wright State) on Friday and then Milwaukee's Joie Beth Freirich and Rada Manataweewat (Central Arkansas) on Saturday.
In doubles, Krupa and Zonova team up for the first time this fall in Flight A doubles. They face Haily Morgan and Luisa Pelayo of Wright State to start their bracket.
Emelie/Lundell (2-1) and Doroshenko/Maya Thompson will compete in the Flight B doubles draw. Emelie and Lundell face UCA's Xylia Chunan Xiang and Shimoguchi. Doroshenko and Maya Thompson will face Samantha Mayer and Krystal Grubb of IUPUI in their first tournament as partners.
Play will start Friday at 9 a.m. at the Edwardsville Y. The C and D singles consolation tournament will be held at Principia College on Saturday.
