–Southeast Missouri's men's basketball team held its first official practice early Tuesday morning at the Show Me Center.
SEMO took the court to begin its preparation for the upcoming 2018-19 season which tips off at Saint Louis on Nov. 6. The Redhawks will log 30 practices prior to this year's opener.
The Redhawks 15-man roster includes two returning starters, four seniors, two juniors, three sophomores and six freshmen. From top to bottom, it is SEMO's most athletic team under head coach Rick Ray
Guards Ledarrius Brewer
and Jonathan Dalton
are the starters back from last season.
A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Brewer landed a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team. He averaged 14.5 points as the Redhawks second-leading scorer as a freshman. Brewer led the team with 71 three-pointers made, helping SEMO break a single-season school record in made threes. He ranked 14th
in the OVC in scoring, 15th
in free throw percentage (.740), sixth in 3-point field goals made (2.3 per game) and 21st
in minutes played (29.4).
Dalton, who hails from New Orleans, Louisiana, led SEMO with 32.2 minutes per game, while averaging 5.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest. He ranked first on the team with 168 assists and 38 steals.

(R-Fr., G, Fairburn, Ga.), Skyler Hogan
(Jr., G, Melbourne, Fla.), Isaiah Gable
(So., F, Greenville, Ohio), Donnie Lewis
(Sr., G, Lexington, Ky.) and Mark Laros
(Sr., C, Hengelo, Netherlands).
Laros and Lewis also had starting experience a year ago. Laros averaged 3.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 27 games and seven starts, and Lewis dished out 41 assists in 31 contests and two starts.
Gable scored 4.3 points per game in 15 appearances off the bench. Meanwhile, Cuffee and Hogan set to make their SEMO debuts. Cuffee redshirted and Hogan sat out the 2017-18 season after transferring to SEMO from Embry-Riddle.

Wilson, who earned Third-Team All-Southland Conference honors at McNeese State after averaging a double-double 10.9 points and 10.2 rebounds last season, will sit out this season due to NCAA Division I transfer regulations.
