scored 18 points to lead five players in double figures as Southeast Missouri (5-9, 0-1) dropped a 94-88 decision to SIU Edwardsville (5-8, 1-0) Thursday night in the Ohio Valley Conference opener for both teams.

SIUE later carried a 45-30 lead into the intermission.

The Redhawks continued to chip away at the Cougars lead and closed the gap to 62-57 on Donnie Lewis'
first basket of the season at the 11:49 mark.

SEMO kept battling and was within six or less points 12 times in the final 10 minutes of the game, but couldn't get any closer than four as SIUE hung on.
The Redhawks shot 30-of-58 from the field and went over 50 percent (51.7) from the field for the second time this year. SEMO buried 13 three-pointers and made 15-of-18 free throws, as well.
Hogan shot 7-of-14 from the field and paved the way with 4-of-7 threes. It was his 10th
double-digit scoring game. Gable followed close behind with a career-high 17 points with three of his five field goals coming from downtown.

Cameron Williams and David McFarland topped SIUE with 27 and 22 points, respectively.
The Cougars shot 58.3 percent (35-of-60) from the floor and knocked down a season-high 10 three-pointers.
SEMO plays host to UT Martin in its OVC home-opener Saturday. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m., CT.
